> Coming Soon: Our National Careers Week Special
The award-winning WOW Show team is filming now for an exciting new show to mark National Careers Week (2-7 March).
It’s Your Future will give students a compelling insight into the way workplaces are changing, where the most important opportunities will be and the transferable skills they will need to take the best advantage of the fabulous new careers that are being created.
The 12-minute assembly-friendly Show will be available on our YouTube channel from 2 March to provide schools with free resources to use with all Year Groups during NCW.
It is backed by lesson plans for KS3, KS4 & KS5 authored by teachers at VotesforSchools so that it can also be used in Tutor, PSHE and other lesson time. The lesson plans link the Show content to curriculum learning (Gatsby Benchmark 4) and provide creative activities for students to follow up throughout NCW and beyond.
It’s Your Future is available on-demand from 8 am on 2 March on our YouTube channel – just click and play anytime to watch this exciting new Show.
WOW – it’s Gold!
Thrilled that The WOW Show won Gold at the EVCOM London Film Awards. It’s a fantastic recognition from the creative industry for our careers channel.
The judges’ citation made particular reference to how successful the Show is in engaging young people about the world of work (https://www.evcom.org.uk/news/evcom-london-live-and-film-awards-a-night-to-remember).
The award was for our Construction Special in association with the Construction Industry Training Board. Many thanks to them for their support – and to the great team at our production partner, The Edge Picture Company.
This latest award follows the Careers Excellence Awards last month when The WOW Show was named Careers Provider of the Year by the Careers and Enterprise Company and The Gatsby Foundation.
The WOW Show is available on our own YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXDSgY0E_aACHXcSqX14YNg) and is free for all schools to support Careers Leads and to help inspire their students about the possibilities for their futures.

The WOW Show wins top Careers Award.
The WOW Show team are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded Careers Provider of the Year at the 2019 Careers Excellence Awards. It is a huge honour to be recognised by The Careers & Enterprise Company and The Gatsby Foundation in this way.
The citation says: “The judges were impressed by the investment, entrepreneurial spirit and scalability of this digital resource.”
We would like to thank our Foundation Sponsors and the many employers, Local Enterprise Partnerships and Careers Hubs with whom we have worked so closely in developing The WOW Show broadcasts. Their help and collaboration has ensured that as many schools as possible can take advantage of these resources.
We would also like to thank and acknowledge the expert contribution that the RSA Academies, VotesforSchools and careers leads at several schools have made in shaping the teacher resources and lesson plans that accompany each show to help schools address the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Many thanks also to Populus for the comprehensive way they have conducted the vital research with students and teachers which informs the development of the Show.
Our goal is steadfastly fixed on engaging young people in the most creative and compelling way about their future and their personal potential in the world of work. This award is a terrific springboard and encouragement to take the innovative approach of The WOW Show further and we look forward to supporting and collaborating with schools to an even greater degree in the future.
