The WOW Show has produced a comprehensive suite of interactive classroom resources for the North East LEP to support National Careers Week which was launched from Newcastle upon Tyne.
Three new films plus teacher-ready lessons from our partners VotesforSchools are tailored for Years 7-13 and focus on the importance of local market information (LMI). They underline why it’s vital for young people to connect with local employers as they think about their future careers.
Mark Fox, Careers Hub Facilitator for North East Ambition, said:
“We couldn’t have asked for more. Our Careers Leaders wanted inspiring and informative resources about the North East labour market which were easy to deliver and fully engaged their students. This is exactly what we have received. The WOW Show and VotesforSchools have been an absolute pleasure to work with.”
Our films feature three important North East sectors – Digital, Construction and Entrepreneurship.
Together with the lessons – written by teachers for teachers – these resources are designed to give students at each level a truly interactive and inspirational experience.
And there’s a CPD video guide to help teachers get the best results in the classroom.
All the resources are free – and you can get them here: Labour Market Information (northeastambition.co.uk)
These latest LMI-focused resources follow similar projects for the Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire LEPs; and a careers film aimed at Oxford graduates.
