An average of 536 students in each school watched the WOW Show special supporting National Careers Week.
And with 7,450 individual connections to our YouTube channel the total audience is estimated at several hundred thousand.
These are the results of our online survey of teachers which was carried out before schools closed for the COVID-19 lockdown. We are extremely grateful to all those teachers who took the time to respond during what was a most stressful time.
Teachers told us that 58% of schools used the Show during assemblies as part of National Careers Week. Audiences ranged from 1,200 or ‘the whole school’ in assembly to smaller groups who viewed in PSHE (28.5%) or Tutor (13.5%) periods.
The overall ratings for the Show were ‘Excellent’ (74%) and there was a recognition by teachers that the Show is particularly good at delivering on Gatsby Benchmarks 2 and 4.
Teachers rated our animated feature on Employability Skills (or Soft Skills) – made in association with City & Guilds – as the best feature. Students most enjoyed our look behind the scenes at the Creative Industries, with careers in Construction and Health close behind.
